strongest artstyle?
I think each one is subjectively better than the other ones, but I like 2 the best. Perhaps just because of the pose.

Quickly done Pit, both at the size my characters are at (the small one) and a slightly larger one (the big one), just to see how much detail I can cram in. Urgh, I might need to rethink how to do sprite art before I start the art assets for my Action card game.

Making some aliens! Tried to make a walk animation, didn't go as well as planned. I know I need to animate his upper body, but I haven't gotten there yet. Any tips?

This is just a jumble of tiles I've been working on. I'll upload some pictures of the trees and shit I've done too, but later on. Also, any programmers who are looking to make a 2-D game, get in contact with me so I can make my art into a vidya game.

Making some aliens! Tried to make a walk animation, didn't go as well as planned. I know I need to animate his upper body, but I haven't gotten there yet. Any tips? I say you should add some more movement to the character's hips. It looks awkward with just the legs moving but if you added some movement to the hips, and animated the upper body too it'll look pretty awesome. As for the upper body movement, making his gun sway from side to side would look good. Nice style by the way.

Wow, that smile. It really makes him look much more intimidating. Awesome work! Just some thinking about different designs for my Card Action Platformer Game. It's not traditional TCG cards: it's more meant to resemble Tarot Nouveau, with each side having slight variations in it's art. I still have no darn thematic idea for this game, thought.

In my game you die very often, and you respawn instantly. This is the death animation. I would like to add some megaman-like explosions, but I can't get it right. Any ideas?

Ohhh, I see how you're seeing it. It could also be his chin, or the eye of a robot. @Alvarop - I'd start off by making him explode, by himself. He just fades out, so explosions would look weird. Make him explode, and then once that looks OK, add Megaman-like explosions radiating outward.

Right, maybe it won't fit. That's what I've found while trying stuff out. Btw, the part where he "glitches out" is the death animation, the scanning up is the respawn. I need to find some more decoration for the death, to give it a more "dramatic" look.

feel like I should "glitch" him out of game Fwiw you'll get better results with simple animated particles rather than statically animated explosions

strongest artstyle? i realise this is (relatively) old but please go with three because the other two look like some eroge shit and the third one makes it look like an actual character instead of an anime archetype

I think #3 has the right mix of detail and stylisation. This is just a jumble of tiles I've been working on. I'll upload some pictures of the trees and shit I've done too, but later on. Also, any programmers who are looking to make a 2-D game, get in contact with me so I can make my art into a vidya game. These are a good start but I would ditch the pillow shading on the grass. Also the flat diagonal lines used for the dirt don't give much sense of form though I guess it could work as a stylistic choice. The jar, bomb and metal all look pretty good but the stone is by far the best, you get a sense of the little scratches and defects in it. I would personally apply some of the same techniques to the dirt.

^ Agreed, even knowing the actual concept I cannot force myself to see the white area as anything else than a mouth....... In other news, used my time of sickness and misery to draw a cute baby penguin: I admit the red gradient may be super cheap and distracting...
