Tumbledrop is like... the best physics puzzle game ever.  And somebody is ripping off one of my all-time favs!?

Anger.  Lips Sealed

Very cool game. I'm sorry to hear that it is being ripped off.

Fun game indeed. Shame on those trying to rip you off.
I'm hoping to see Tumbledrop in the AppStore before any of those cheap ripoffs show up.

I've contacted him, so I'm waiting to see what happens.

It's impossible for me to beat people in terms of release date, as I'm fairly slow at coding still and I'm working hard to make this game very high quality. I'm sure it'll go okay though, I think there is always room for nicely produced games on the iphone.

The sad thing about this is that it has made me very reluctant to share progress, features, or upcoming projects either.

Damn.  That's total robbery.  Even the level layouts look cloned.

Tumbledrop is one of the better physics puzzle games, too.

Jeez. That's an even more obvious clone than Redstar Fail.

Also, this guy, who apparently found the delay after removing pieces too difficult for his simple mind:

Funnily enough, someone accused that guy of copying Super Stacker.

Some people know no shame. As disgusting as this entire situation is, at least you can take credit for spawning an entire subgenre of puzzle games Undecided

I can't see how Tumbledrop would be be any fun without the agonized expressions on the faces of the little blocks.

To be fair, though, Tumbledrop itself wasn't the first game in the "genre" at all, was it? So, I don't think the very concept behind that other game is more of a ripoff. Of course, the design obviously is, and Tumbledrop is special in that regard and also feels to me like the most charming one of the bunch because of its design Smiley

I think maybe you ought to try to get some press for a trailer, so that it becomes widely known that it's your IP. I feel like part of your problem is that these guys think they can rip off some little-known developer and nobody will notice.

Tumbledrop definitely was not the first game in the genre.  The main innovations were the limited target area, the reduced ruleset, and the complex and concave shapes, the star being the most significant.

In the case of this new gamer he is very obviously copying the artwork, and he even copies the exact same text before and after each level.

I'm reluctant to put out a trailer until I've already submitted the game to the app store. I don't really want to show off any of the new features of my game because of things like this, at least until there isn't any time to make a quick copy.

it's funny how he's denying it's a clone even though the 'restart' button and the 'go for it!' or whatever text is identical -- it's impossible for those to be coincidences

dock, did you flag the video as inappropriate? One of the options is "infringes my rights".

btw, disabling comments doesn't mean you can't still comment on his profile (or if that fails, his other videos)

http://www.youtube.com/user/Dante16

he has 5000+ subscribers to his youtube channel, he's pretty famous

EDIT: he deleted my comment and commented in my profile with this:

"I have already redesigned my games look and interface and feel. I would appreciate it if no more comments like the recent one made are posted on my channel or videos. If you can contact the owners of TigSource please tell them that they need to remove that comment in the top right of the home page."

EDIT:

I bet his developer friends would be interested in knowing about Tumbledrop.

He's now threatening to take TIGSource to court if we don't remove the link on the front page.  Is it possible that this guy is Tim Langdell's bastard child?
