meanwhile in my country gay marriage has been legal for a few years, but is not officially called marriage and isn't equal to heterosexual marriage in terms of legal status. living in a conservative catholic country sucks sometimes.

Interesting: Whites projected to become a US minority“This is without historical precedent,” said Kenneth Johnson, the senior demographer at the University of New Hampshire’s Carsey School of Public Policy. “The minority population is growing, and the non-Hispanic white population is not.”
Whites currently account for 62 percent of the population but 78 percent of deaths, according to Johnson’s analysis. Non-Hispanic whites were the only group with a higher death rate than birthrate. As a result, their numbers grew the slowest: up 0.5 percent from 2013 to 2014, compared with 2.1 percent for Hispanics, 1.3 percent for black people, 3.2 percent for Asians, 1.4 percent for American Indians and Alaska Natives, and 2.3 percent for native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.
“I don’t think people fully appreciate how much natural increase [more births than deaths] contributes to the nation’s growing diversity,” Johnson said. “If you ask people why is America more diverse, they would say it’s because minorities are being born. What nobody ever thinks about is that a lot more whites are dying.” It will be interesting to see how things change in the US as time goes on, hopefully it translates to more progressiveness and acceptance overall than just a pendulum swinging.

This is a mystery I wonder why they choose to call themselves that way, worse is the whole blue blood thingy that predate "white".

sorry I don't celebrate slightly conveniencing nerds having custom plastic toys in their bookshelf as a great meaningful leap in technology

Thanks sirniko, Toys are the least of our concern seriously ... it's like the proto synthetiser, a factory in your house and soon in your pocket, that mean printing house, ustensile, vehicle, etc ... on the spot, and it's getting faster, the second generation of technics have shorten to one magnitude of order, I expect the third generation directly flash a whole volume in mere second.

The place where I work got a 3D printer back in the mid-2000s which we used for prototyping (back then, 3D printers were usually called "Rapid Prototypers"). The idea was that it was faster and easier to print something from a model to test it for form and fit, and for plastic parts you could make functional items before investing in the cost of molds.
They're also useful in applications where you are going to make very small volumes of highly customized parts, which is incredibly useful in medical applications where every part is customized to a patient.
Another recent application has been to take a printer with you into the field to make repair parts instead of lugging around a toolbox of every conceivable part you'd need. If you figure out a l-bracket is broken, print a new one to fix the wind turbine or whatever and get it working while you wait to ship out a new bracket for a permanent fix.
They can also fabricate parts like embedded gears that can't be made with conventional manufacturing techniques. In theory you could make ultra-lightweight devices by simply printing all the gears directly into the housing and eliminate a lot of structural components.
Consumers owning personal printers to make toys is a very, very recent phenomenon and probably the least common application for them.
That said, I like the rhino horn application.

For cars the difference already happen, on a domestic level not yet with the crappy plastic printer we have, but we are using "fax" and we are waiting it to become "internet". House will soon be a reality don't worry, the perspective is to print houses by the days instead by the weeks (prefab) or month (traditional).
