It's the end of consumerism, it's redefining the economic landscape the same way mp3 changed digital and information's market,it's putting labour production back in the hand of individual. It's a new era for humanity. @disney's artists work on kingdom heart 3 japan TO american

Kingdom Hearts in general should feel a bit more Disney or "american". I think KH 1 was a perfect balance of Disney and Square. KH2's (though it wasn't a bad game) design, story etc went too much into the japanese craziness. I love everything japanese but KH2 was just all over the place.

Nintendo speculation time, they could be back to cart with sd like tech. It's now cheap to print sd card for less than 1$ for 100gb, this mean faster access time, custom memory, return of chip on cart and various stuff that blew up blue ray out of the water. ... OK totally stolen from this post http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=170173451&postcount=952Interesting perspective nonetheless for everyone. SAY NO TO LOADING!

How does that work anyway
I've never understood that
Is it simply that a cart DOES load like a CD, only a bazillion times faster, so that there is virtually "no" loading?
Cause i mean you dont wanna keep everything in RAM all the time so you'll wanna load and unload things from a cart too
Right?? ?? ?
But like on pc or PS or Xbox you install the games anyway instead of actually running them from cd or cart too so eh
Is cart simply faster than both CDs and those hard drives
Or is a cart like literally a RAM with everything constantly loaded

Is it simply that a cart DOES load like a CD, only a bazillion times faster, so that there is virtually "no" loading? From Wikipedia: As the ROM cartridge is memory mapped into the system's normal address space, software stored in the ROM can be read like normal memory; since the system does not have to transfer data from slower media, it allows for nearly instant load time and code execution. Software run directly from ROM typically uses less RAM, leaving memory free for other processes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROM_cartridge

It's a matter of memory hierarchy Also - BD (blue ray disc) have speed of data transfer that ranged from 4.5MB/s (1x) to 72MB (16x) to which you must add "seek time" ie the mechanical head need to find the right sector to read first. - Sd card ranged from 12.5MB/s to 312MB/s and we mention the later above and have no seek time To put that in perspective modern console have 8GB of ram, it takes in second: - 1820,44 s (30.34 mn) to 113,77 s (1,90 mn) for BD to fill the ram (assuming no seek time) - 655,36 s (19.92 mn) to 26,26 s for SD card

very few current gen console gams (and even many last gen ones) actually load data from a blu ray tho. they all install to HDD and pretty much just use the disc as DRM (on ps4 at least).

I like the term of #CoffeeBreakLoading Keeping it Elder Scrolls: Oblivion had #GrilledCheeseSandwichLoading. One time I hit a loading screen on that game (XBOX360 version) and went and made a grilled cheese sandwich and came back and it had just finished loading.

honestly don't see a problem with install time tho. waiting once for 10 minutes before you can play a gam isn't the end of the wrlod.
