Thanks! :D What do you guys think of that Bad dudes 2 project? It peaked my interest because I now wonder if there's a possibility of getting a team of enthusiasts to try and approach a sequel to other official games that have been dead for a while, namely final fight and streets of rage. |

I have an old laptop lying around so I decided to turn it into an emulation station. I've tested all the major frontends on the interwebs and the best I could honestly find was XBMC with the Advanced Launcher plugin. Having the ability to grab screenshots and info automatically from gamefaqs, mameworld, mobygames, etc, is a godsend. Here's what it looks like:   |

At the moment, there's a script that searches thegamesdb.net by filenames. It isn't perfect (it's missing a lot of data and often has mismatches), but works well enough. I believe someone's working on a way to use CRCs to get better matches. Aww yeah, my front-end is starting to look good:

The only reason I started this project is because I wanted something that worked on the Raspberry Pi, which has an ARM processor and 256mb of RAM (shared with the GPU). While there are XBMC ports, they run at about 20-30fps, and a lot of plugins are spotty. I don't think I'm ever going to get on the level of other front-ends that have been around for a long time. |

SD Snatcher is a game you just have to play at least once! All the nemesis games, but especially Space Mambow and Salamander. Xak, tower of gazzel. Ys 1 and 2. Firebird. Think does are my favs but I also love all the simple konami games from that time (and there are heaps of them for the msx!) |
